I do not have the second iteration of this intake however the biggest difference is the second is a 2 piece vs the original is single. The second one also has a "vane" "setup" like the stock airbox. This is to control and minimize the air swirl effect in the pipe and lets the maf read more consistently. Also it comes with a new upper radiator hose that allows it to clear without any sort of rubbing issues, even with a tbs. The silicone neck has a less aggressive curve as well. the original was about 90 degree bend. Others have said this new one could be around 100-110 degree bend, thus flowing a little easier.

unless buying used or on ebay it might be difficult to find the original version. However, with the provisions made to the second one, would you really want it?

Oh and its vtec... not vetc (your signature). Also if you have a turbo you cannot use this setup as you will have an intake coming from the snail.

I bought a red AEM SRI back in early 08 it has the veins in it. It made my vtec so effin loud for the first week and after that it calmed down. I like that intake iv only thrown 1 CEL with at 60k its been on the car since 3k.

There are no AEM V2 intakes for the 06+ Si considering AEM markets V2 intakes and they are ALL short ram intakes.

AEM part #21-519 > Injen CAI > AEM part #21-517

Like I said, AEM doesn't make a V2 for the 2006+ Civic Si. Perhaps you are referring to the 2007+ Civic Si AEM CAI. The AEM V2 is a short ram intake

7/30/09 Edit: To correct an error, I stated all V2's were short rams when I should have said most.

Actually the Aem V2 is a CAI not a short ram. For two Corsport told me that the reason why they don't have it for the 06+ civics is due to the tubing being to big and we have minimal room under the hoods of our cars. I had the v2 on my 00 civic and was totally impressed with the setup. When I was in the market for a CAI on my fg2 I wanted the V2, but then found out that it just wasn't avaliable. If you want a CAI I would just go with the Ingen CAI w/ MR Technology. I have had no problem at all with mine.

Depends on the model of car it's for, not too many are CAI's, most are short rams.

The AEM cold air intake marketed for the 2007-2008 is the best cold air intake for for the 2006+ Civic Si
