Honda d16z6 runnin low on oil

Well I just got a honda and it been running real low on oil and it's been makin a sound on the head not knockin and no power lose would the weird noise be from running on low oil?

well what kind of noise is it...valves tapping??

YES YES...the noise could be from low oil!!!

UM check the dip stick?
