I am looking at a 2002 Honda CBR-954RR.

I am trying to get a feel on what people think about the bike from people who have owned one. I currently ride a GSX-R which has been a good bike, I just want something bigger and better.

Post you opinions of the bike and pictures if you have them.

 

I have never owned one, but have ridden one that a friend owned... I like it, it wont set the world on fire in the handling department, but it handles good. slightly heavy for racing, but great for sport touring... The engine is strong and tractable.

 

Sold my GSX-R today...Time to go get this bike!

 

Good deal, you will enjoy it. I had a 929, which is the same bike minus 15cc and the newer bodywork. The bike is around 10lbs lighter than the new 1000rr (curb weight/ full of fuel and fluids, it's one of the lighter open-class bikes made.

I've been looking to get back on a 929 since I sold mine last year, much more fun to ride than my 600rr.

I Rode my 954RR for 3 years track, street and canyons...great bike. I was absolutely in love with my 954.

I sold my 02 954 and bought an 04 GSX-R750...no comparison for my style of riding. The 750 is a far superior canyon carver.

I have owned both a cbr 929rr and a cbr 954 rr. I felt that the 929rr had more of a usable powerband. It was more fluid to me compared the the 954rr that had more power above 5k rpms. Looks comparison I think that the 954rr is a much better looking bike. It feels less bulky than the 929rr. Both are fantastic bikes. If i were to own another sport bike it would be between those two.

+1 on getting the 954RR. A buddy of mine had one. Loved borrowing his bike! If I had the means, I'd pick one of for myself.
