I think I'm having a similar problem. I can't get a spark. Already swapped in a new distributor cap and rotor and coil but no spark. I don't know what to do next.
did you do the same swap? if so the black/yellow and solid yellow larger guage wires going to the external coil need to be butt connected to each other.
does anyone know how i can check what codes are being set after converting obd2 to obd1? i saw that i need to use the obd2 dlc and jumper 8 and 13 but 8 is empty and i have a code that keeps setting and no clue what to fix b/c it runs awesome.
thanks
thanks
update on this situation.....
we decided to completely convert to obd2 since it is a 96 vehicle and needs to pass emissions. currently car is expired on tags/emissions. the obd1 motor has been completely converted to a obd2 motor now with the exception of distributor assembly.
i got the obd2 oil pump, ckp and cyp sensors, intake manifold with all obd2 components, removed the injector resistor and soldered them all together.
PROBLEM is that the car will start up and run and runs fine until you attempt to drive it and it will run really sluggish and stall out. i can fire it back up and it will set a p0450 evap and p1399 misfire codes. i had the car sitting in my driveway just idling last night and it just stalled out on its own. i know the computer will alter the spark advance b/c i tried playing with that and moving it but no matter where i put it the ecu kept it where it wanted it. it seems as if this is a fuel related matter but my scanner and a friends scanner wont show anything pertaining to the injectors in the info section. i did notice the short term fuel trim was a -23% when the problem was happening. what else could be causing this?
please help!!
