i was going 2 change the oil in my crx and was wondering wat kind of oil filter i should use that would work if i cant get a honda oil filter. or if that even matters. and how many quarts of oil it takes. the engine is a d16z6. thanks
I use HAMP oil filters, (Honda Aftermarket Parts)
but you can use whatever filter you'd like just don't go cheap on it. Hamp filters are 8-10$

Auto parts stores will have plenty of filters from different brands to fit your motor. There is book next to the filters to tell you which ones to get, or you can ask for help at the counter. Don't buy the cheap FRAM filters. They are made of cardboard inside...
The Honda or Acura dealerships will have zillions of the OEM filters in stock which are excellent (almost all Hondas use the same filter). The nice thing about Honda is that they usually provide you with a new drain plug washer every time you buy a filter. The drain plug washer should be replaced every time you remove the oil drain plug on the oil pan. Filter should be around $8 each at Honda...

^ guess what? The company "Honeywell" makes Fram, AND now makes Honda filters too!
They are no longer any better than using fram.
NAPA gold filters are the best out there from parts stores for the price.
There is a TON of good info on bobistheoilguy.com
