DAMN IM LUCKYY!!!!!!! im a hydrolock survivor!!!
if you have any kind of CAI intake, i think u should take a look at my story............
I was driving home from work today and was headed for school to register for classes.....On the way there, it started raining like crazy! I couldnt see anything....I drove carefully (as i always do when it rains) watching out for unsuspecting puddles......and then it happened. My car just died on me, half way into my parkin spot....
I knew i probably just overlooked a puddle
.....Just to make sure, I tried starting her up one more time....and it wouldnt do anything. I called up one my boys (thanks Huy) to come help me out because i had the wrong size sparkplug socket. This is what you need to do, if it ever happends to you.....(DO NOT try to start the car) First we unplugged the spark plug wires. Then we took out the spark plugs. Just to make sure it was water that caused my car to shut down, i cranked the car to see if any water shot out of the sparkplug location...and what do you know, it shot out of cylinder #4. So what we did was opened a empty bottle of simple green and used it to suck up all the water out of cylinder #4. We turned the crank with the each time to make sure the piston was all the way up in each cylinder so we could get all the water out....After making sure all the water was out, and letting it dry for a couple of minutes, we replaced the spark plugs and started her up...... And shes fine now. Im not sure if any of this was the correct way of doing it, but it worked for me, and saved me from any damage from hydrolocking........(crossing fingers) Ive learned alot from honda-tech members, so hopefully my story will help one of you one day.
ps- my AEM CAI is OFFICIALLY for sale...

So guys, what are some good short rams? Ive heard alot of good reviews about Comptech box, but how much do they go for with the polished arm? (Dont have the OEM intake anymore) and NO, i cant afford ARC.
Damn! Everytime I think about getting a AEM I read a story like this.
Has anyone with the Icebox had any problems yet?
Good save

By-pass valve looses power (or so I have been told). Get the Icebox, I like it a lot.
Wasn't there just a big post on Intakes this week? With dyno numbers as well.
Anyways, I remember two years ago when the AEM CAI was the thing to have and all else was crap.

someone on here posted about hydrolocking his motor w/ an Icebox too, so don't think you're safe with that...then again, someone else posted about the same thing w/ a stock intake too...NO ONE IS SAFE, just pay attention when you drive, especially in the rain!
