Default 2nd and 3rd gear grinding after installing a new exedy stage 1 clutch

my clutch recently went out on my DA to the point that the shifter wouldnt even move. so i ordered a exedy stage 1 and had it installed, after i got the car back the gears feel a little stiffer and now it grinds in 2nd and 3rd gear even if your only shifting at like 3k. people are saying its the syncros but it didnt grind at all before the clutch was replaced. then some one said to try gm syncro mesh gear oil, cus apparently its supposed to be really good, iv driven about 50 miles with that in there and havent really noticed much of a difference so far. so if any body has any ideas of what it could be or what i could do let me know.

Try adjusting your transmission cable, maybe it preventing you from stepping on the clutch all the way. Syncros could be bad, i would recommend gm syncromesh, or pennzoil syncromesh, which ever you prefer.

I just used GM synchromesh FRICTION MODIFIED and it cleared up my grinding issues. Check your clutch cable and make sure it's adjusted accordingly.

It might not help you, It's a ''temporary'' band-aid. Everyone might not have the same effects.. Who installed the clutch?

i had a shop do it. the guys said since he had never worked on my car before he didnt know what to tell me about the grinds not being there before. he did put that syncromesh in for me for free though. i havent asked him about the tranny cable being adjusted cus i kinda thought that he would have thought of that. im probably gonna try to put the friciton modified in and see if there is any difference.

could be that ur throw out bearing is not installed correctly. Just something to look into. I use Royal Purple Syncrmesh in my tranny.

How much free play do you have in the clutch pedal before it starts to take any effort to push?

I'm not sure if it would fix your problem, but the pedal needs to have a little bit of freeplay to make sure the clutch releases all the way.
