I went to the mall, parked my car underground (cause it was hot out). Turn the alarm on and FORGOT to pull the e-brake. I left it in neutral.
I was in the mall for about 15 minutes to pick up some stuff. I come out and my car moved 12 feet, right in the middle of the driving lane
Luckily nothing happened to her. The alarm did not go off or anything so it did not hit anything nor did anyone hit it. The security guard was there and I told him my error.
This is the second time this has ever happened to me...but first time in the ITR and hopefully not ever again.

happened to me a few times but I've found out both times because the car started to roll, but when the incline isn't that bad like in your case, you'll forget about it.

The first time I ever did this, I was visiting a friend who works late night at a pizza joint located in a strip mall with a huge parking lot. The lot was empty, I parked right in front of the pizza shop. I come out and my fuggin car is on the other side of the parking lot (must of been at least 150 feet away from where I parked it). At first I thought someone stole my car. Somehow it miraculously dodged all the light poles.
i used to leave it in gear but when i would get in the car to start it up, i would forget that it was in gear
so i just leave it in neutral and use the e brake.

i thought you couldnt start an integra without the clutch pressed in?[/QUOTE]
The clutch switch can be bypassed with ease. On my old car the parking brake had to be up for my car to start, but you could start the car without depressing the clutch.

Not me but my mother was in a similar boat but didn't get out as lucky.
Parking brake was up but wasn't up enough, hill was REALLY deep,
She came back an hour later and the car was about 100 metres down the hill and hit a street name pole right through the middle of the rear of the car. Soooo lucky, if the pole wasn't there.. the car would've run into a house at fairly high speeds.
I never leave the car in gear, too dangerous since i always park the car right up near the front wall of my garage. Forgetting to depress the clutch pedal would spell a disaster for my front bumper

dont worry dude, my mom did the same thing in my R, nearly ran in it into a fence in because she forgot the ebrake and it started rolling forward..

I ALWAYS leave my car parked in GEAR. I never forget to push in the clutch and neutral upon car start up. It's like second nature to me.. Be very careful..

Similar thing happened to me here.... at work... I always have the car parked right outside in front of the window by my desk.... I've been inside for awhile.. then all of a sudden I start to see my car rolling back.....slowly, but moving... I put everything down and run like crazy outside, but luckily the car had stopped rolling already.... got into the car.. moved it back up to the same spot and pulled the e-brake all the freakin' way up..... that was scary...
But how about driving with forgetting to put the E-Brake down... had anyone done that before...????

yup, happens with old age, these days.
I just made up a list of things to do when I'm getting out of the car or getting in the car. That way, I'm already remember what to do.

That's why I asked... I did the same thing... it was in an old Corolla... I was driving with my ex-girl... I asked her to carry my jacket and she threw it over the e-brake and covered.... so I totally forgot about the e-brake... and I drove for about a good 5 miles and wondering why the car was so slow also.... then started to smell weird sh*t..... I look in the back and just smoke... moved the jacket to find out that the e-brake was still up.... that was bad..... I was wondering why other drivers were looking at me weird.... and they didn't even bother to honk or anything... so nowadays when I see other cars like that.. I usually honk or wait til a stop and tell them....... but no more of that for me though..... learned my lesson and that's it for now...
I don't understand how you can forget something like that. It's like putting on pants in the morning. It's just something that you always remember
PS. To anyone that wears a dress this post still applies

My neighbor next door did the same thing, but her car went down the street through the neighbors garage door and screwed up the car and put a huge whole in the garage door. I have never laughed so hard before.

My roomate went to 24 hr in his 330 and parked it when he came out it had tolled to the spot across from where he had parked. Lucky for him, he works out late when there aren't that many cars around.
This one guy I knew in high school went to a friend's house for a group project(girl lived on a pretty steep slope) when he was done he came out and found his car upside down in a ditch at the end of the drive way. Supposedly he had put it in gear but not pulled the e-brake. Not too sure though, didn't want to bother him about details
