i have a 2000 civic and everytime i turn on my ac the idle on my car goes up and down and i hear a clicking sound. it seem its coming from the compresor or sumwhere in the engine bay. has anyone had this problem. open to suggestions.thax

 

is it cold?.. sounds like it is fine.

 

its kinda cold. it could do better i think. it might just need a recharge but im worried about the click sound and the wierd idel its giving me. the idle is not bad where it idles constanly it just idels weird when u turn the ac on while driving. anybody has more things to say.

 

The compressor may be going bad. You might want to measure the refrigerant pressures on the high and low sides. Did you recently add refrigerant to the system?

 

Sounds like you're short cycling. The low pressure switch is taking the AC clutch out. That's why your idle keeps going up and down. Lots of pulling in and dropping out by the AC clutch.
$50 says you're low on charge.
