Default Hello all, introduction thread

I just bought a 91 EF Std w/ 4 speed, and I am loving the car. It handles well, and, with me being a suspension junky, I am going to drop the car and tighten everything up. Springs, bushings, struts, strut bars, etc. I am also looking for a d16z6 swap (it does use the same mounts as the d15b1 that is in the car, right?) with 5 speed, and ECU/harness if anyone knows of or has one, let me know. Suspension and braking are my things, but I enjoy a little power as well. Now, rear brakes, is there a cheap and effective rear disc swap that can be done?

I am not your typical newb, as I have been in the car game awhile, but I am new to the Honda game. I used to be one of the jackbutts who made fun of everything Honda. Since I was looking for cheap transportation, I found my hatch, and, well...the car is me. She has all new plugs, wires, exhaust, brakes, clutch, tires and has been well taken care of. I now, sheepishly, wish to be accepted into the fold of the Honda enthusiast.

I know there is a lot of questions in this post, but honestly, I wanted to get them all out there in one post rather than spamming the board with seventy OMG, how do I do this posts!

But the rear discs on ed's our cars are not ef's(ef came in japan not in the us) were only on 91 crx si's which are hard to find. Integra 90-01 will fit get the trailing arms and everything. Get a cable trans 5 speed either a dx or si don't get a hf(long *** gears). And any d series will bolt in besides the d series out of a 86-89 integra. There that answers your questions. Anything else search.

You, sir, just made me laugh. Thank you. I appreciate the cordial welcome. I mean the newb part as much as I actually know how to do my work and wouldn't be asking where the oil filter is or how the brakes work, etc...but I should have specified...I do suck at searching. Practice is imminent however.

I already have the HF trans. I like the long gears for commuting, but with auto-x in the picture, I am thinking the Si or at least a DX 5-speed is in the works. Thank you guys. I will visit the search link before I post.

True our search does suck also. But both parts were stickied. Not hard when they are at the top of the first post. And pictures and you better claim this as your build thread before it gets locked up.

Well you have the std which is not a hf trans. Or if you have a hf trans which came out of the crx I would suggest not swaping it. If you like the longer gears for highway driving get a si trans which will have the short gears 1-4 and then get a crx hf trans and put the 5th gear in the si trans which will save you tons on gas. Si trans at 70 your turning around 3500rpm, hf trans at 70 your turning about 1200-1500 rpm.

Cliffs
hf is long gear 5 speed trans
std is long gear 4 speed trans
dx/lx/ex trans are same gears and are shorter then std/hf but still a lil long
si is short gears and best for autox/drag
