-T3/T4 Turbo - Turbonetics
-Stock Manifold
Reading 14 in.Hg on the Vaccum/Boost Gauge
I need a Vaccum diagram for the whole setup if possible....IM to the canister...If anyone has any kind of diagrams please help.....
It starts and revs like a rotory....
already replaced IACV, MAP sensor, o2 Sensor, TPS......
if can get above 2000rpms at start-up i can rev all i want, but if not it slams 2000 rapidly and back down....

Disconnect the turbo and get it running as NA first.
sounds like you have a big ignition problem and if that is right then you risk detonation. Detonation bad no matter what, but with boost it is worse.

what lol????? his car is hunting for idle... means you have a vaccuum leak. check for cracked hoses or any other leak after the throttle body. also remove your IACV and clean it, and remove your FITV, open it up, and screw the white plastic peice inside completely tight.
I guess - I translated it differently.
I read it that he can start it up he can above to 2000rpm and rev all he wants otherwise it goes to 2000 and back down.
Guess I read it wrong - thought that if he doesn't rev it when he starts it up then he can't rev over 2000.

you are correct.....
if its started and you dont hold the throttle open, it wont go above 2000 rpm and just keeps bouncing....at 2k
if you start it and hold the throttle, it starts and revs up but you have to keep revving the throttle to keep it above 2000 rpms

it IS searching for idle if you dont hold the throttle...but its not the typical slow rrrrrrrrmmmmmm.....rrrrrrrrmmmmmm........its quick and fast....

When you say it's revving like a rotary I get an image of an old beater I had that sounded like it was misfiring!??!
Does it run smooth when you hold the pedal to steady out the idle?
so after it's warmed up you CAN get it over 2k?
That wouldn't be igntion.
90Rexx is on the right track from where this is going.
At idle you should be able to spray things down with starter fuild and if you find a leak it will make the RPM jump.
I think it would be a good idea to take any turbo stuff out of the loop to make it easier. Pinch off lines that feed your boost controller, gauges, etc. just to make sure they aren't the culprit.

ok i got it to idle right but only if the MAP sensor is unplugged...wtf? this should not be happening!!!! someone help me out here
there seems to be no throttle...its very sparatic. if you play with it you can get it above 3 grand and can get it to spool up and make boost, but otherwise its gets hung up at either 2 or 3 grand....Gonna swap the intake manifold and throttle body for right now and see where that gets us....
let me know if anyone has anyone ideas........

Yeah, somewhat sounds like your map is either bad or it is plugged up. Did you by chance recently put on a throttle body with RTV? Or is your map plugged up/the hose to the map if you still have your OBD-0 map sensor? I know you said you replaced the map but did you buy a new one or put in a used one?

ok.. its my car, and im going through hell with it.. if I start the car with the map sensor connected it goes straight to 2000rpm an it surges like a rev limiter(while maintaning 17-19 vacuum pres) but does not go past 2000 at all.. if I start it immediatly(still with map connected) and try to rev past 50% throttle it revs as if im giving it full throttle, but im not.it will rev normally as long as i keep reving hard.. but as soon as I stop reving it goes back to 2000rpm and surges and does not go past 2000rpm and while maintaining at 14 vacuumm pressure. I cannot find any vacuumm leaks but when I disconnect my map sensor it idles at a normal rmp but with a slight misfire and will act normal with misfire until about 1800rpms and then clears up and rev to 3000 normally and if i let go of the throttle when it hits 3000.the rpm then falls to 2000 and surges 3 to 4 times and then it will then fall back to around 1000rpm idle.but if i try holding the throttle from idle past 3000, it hits 3000 then falls back to 2000rpm and surges unti i let go of throttle (with map disconnected) I have disconnected the turbo and all vacuumm lines associated with it. as far as the map sensor goes, the one i had in the car ran before i swaped the motor and the one i put in there now ran in the last car it was in, i have not yet put in a new one, i am 90% sure it works because both cars i took the map sensor from ran fine. as far as the iac sensor goes, it is the same situation, the one i had ran fine and so did the one i replaced it with, and as far as the vacuumm lines go, I have all after market vacuumm lines and grounds that have never been used. I pulled the iac sensor to see if it was clogged, and nothing. I tried the started fluid spray technique but thats bullshit. I even opened up the vacuumm line and sprayed the starter fulid in the line and the rpms still did not jump so that technique clearly does not work. my computer says im throwing a code 3, 5, 7, 14, which I believe that 5, 7 an 14 is tps map and iac..but im not sure what code 3 is, havent had a chance to look it up. but my inital plan was to clear all check engine lights and see where I stand, but I have replaced multiple sensors and still throw the same check engines lights... I cannot figure it out. Please Help!

What is the RTV and could this be causing a problem??? Would having an OBD-0 Map be causing the problem? (idk which one it is) I ask what the RTV is because there are these two weird looking things on both the throttle body & intake manifold that are circular and flat....(Eleon you need to take pics of that and put em up here)
LET ME FIX THIS UP A LITTLE BIT....THIS IS HOW HE MEANT FOR HIS POST TO READ..

ok.. its my car, and im going through hell with it...
if I start the car with the map sensor connected it goes straight to 2000rpm an it surges constantly like a rev limiter (while maintaining 17-19 vacuum pres) however it will not go past 2000 rpm...at all...
if I start it (with map connected) and immediately rev anything past 50% throttle, it revs as if im giving it full throttle, but im not. it WILL rev over 2000 rpm, but only as long as i keep reving hard (more than 50% throttle) As soon as I stop giving it throttle though, it goes back to 2000rpm and surges and does not go past 2000rpm just as before, but now maintaining a solid 14 for vacuum pressure.
With the MAP sensor disconnected, i can start it!?! It starts normally and it idles at a normal rmp but with a slight misfire. If i begin to give throttle, it will act normal with misfire until about 1800rpms. Then it clears up and rev's to 3000 normally like it should. if i let go of the throttle when it hits 3000 rpm it then falls back to 2000 and surges 3 to 4 times like before. Then it will then fall back to around 1000rpm idle and be fine again. If i try holding the throttle open from idle (with MAP still disconnected) past 3000, it wont. It stops it like a rev limiter like before. It hits 3000 then falls back to 2000rpm and surges until i let go of throttle
I have disconnected the turbo and all vacuum lines associated with it. And still the same problems. My initial plan was to clear all check engine lights and see where I stand, but I have replaced multiple sensors and still throw the same check engines lights... I cannot figure it out. My computer says im throwing codes 3, 5, 7, 14. I believe that 5, 7 an 14 is tps, map, and iac?...
ill fill the blank here,
( 3 & 5 = MAP Sensor , 7 = TPS Sensor , 14 = IAC Valve )
But as far as the map sensor goes, the one i had in the car ran before i swapped the motor and the one i put in there now ran in the last car it was in. I have not yet put in a NEW one, but i am 90% sure these work because both cars i took the map sensor from ran fine. as far as the iac sensor goes, it is the same situation, the one i had ran fine and so did the one i replaced it with.
As far as the vacuum lines and such, I pulled the IAC valve to see if it was clogged, and nothing. I cannot find any vacuum leaks. I have all after market vacuum lines and grounds that have never been used. I tried the started fluid spray technique but thats bullshit. I even opened up the vacuum line and sprayed the starter fluid in the line and the rpms still did not jump!?!?! so that technique clearly isnt working.
Please Help!
ALL BETTER!
