cant do my timing
So I have very lil experiance with cars and had to replace my head on my B18A integra and I got the head all on and all I am trying to figure out now is how do I set the timing? I heard just line up the two arrows on the cams pointing up then point the one on the watter pump up also and do that and it will be fine. But how do i get to the water pump and is that how you set it?
The water pump is on the right. The timing belt connects along with it. I think you have to remove the lower plastic cover to get to it and I think its held in by 3 bolts.
you want the oil pump mark (crank gear) to line up on the oil pump housing and the cams to line up with each other,....the water pump doesnt have a mark and makes no difference in the timing of the motor....crank and cams are what you need to make sure are lined up properly.
and also the head is off right now so with just removing the other belts should I be able to see the marks? And also so All I have to like up is the top cams with the head pointing up and then the crank?
