Default shift linkage replacement???

i have alot of play in my gear box and i'm told to replace the shift linkage. I have disconnected everything besides the piece of the linkage in the transmission. I was also told that there is a pin to hammer out.. any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated.

that pin is called a b*tch pin. If you get a flat head and a hammer and hit around the edges you'll be ok. If you expaned the pin while still inside, it will be a b*tch to get out.

If your going to replace your shift linkage I would recommend you replace the shifter bushings.

For smoother throw feel.
