ok today i went to a local tuner shop to get a quote on how much it will cost to install my itr cams, itr dual valve springs and itr retainers. what the guy quoted me was $350 and to me that seems high. so if you know someone or a shop that can do it for a good price let me know. anyone here ever paid anyone to install their valvetrian and for how much or how much should i be paying for them to install it? i know it's pretty straight forward but i just dont got the tools and if i had someone who can guide me through it im pretty sure i can do it but i rather get it professionally installed.

 

Remember you get what you pay for. I mean I see that you want to install stiffer springs and bigger cams, but I don't see anything that says you are going to replace the locks or valves. I would suggest replacing those locks, seeing as I have no idea how many miles are on the old ones. Also, what about vacuum testing the ports before and/or after the work is done to make sure that everything is sealing correctly and there are no issues. Unless you want to do this with the head on the car still? I am a firm believer in removing the head, but hey that's just me. Don't forget to double check the lash (valve clearance) as well.

If you want a number to a place, I will be happt yo give it to you. These guys are bad ***, they do a **** load of work for Equalibrium (Subaru shop).

i dont think i need to replace any of those parts because the head just got all new parts put in like 6-7k miles ago and the whole head was machined already with all new stock parts

 

boy............u gonna need a special tools to do this


a shop that can to this charge 300 just to put the springs and retainers in. 150 for cams and adjust valves clearance, thats not include cams seal yet.

Then $350 is not a bad price for cam and valve train install while the head it still in the car.

And Cascar is a machine shop on 47th street in Sacramento.

Cascar will not work on it unless it is out of the car.
