Hello Honda-Tech. I'm finally replacing my head gasket on my 93 CBR F2. A local shop pulled my spark plugs off and noticed that one of the spark plugs had a little rust on it from water getting into it... Anyways hes pulling out the head and hes going to resurface it while it is off... My question is, If he resurfaces the head, Won't it cause the compression to go up? I'm sure he knows, But I was curious if resurfacing a head can cause a compression change on my motor?

Now, While were on the subject... Does anyone know the correct compression on a 93 CBR F2? What is good and what is not? I believe my bike showed 110/115/110/120 Or something similar.... I don't remember too correctly But I do remember the Mechanic say that it wasn't for sure because he wasn't sure if each piston made a complete rotation... Then again my bike does have 40,000 miles and it has a blown head gasket... Can anyone confirm good or bad compression?

UPDATE: Well I went to go check on my bike today and the mechanic showed me the head. It turns out that the last owner didn't want to pay the extra cash and have someone properly resurface the head. There were a bunch of grooves on the head. It looked like a dirt bike track!! He said its fixable though... Apparently that was causing the overheating problem. I'm just afraid that it might cut it close. I just don't want a valve to hit the piston dome. =/
