I have a couple general questions about an ITR...
Overall, how do they drive around town? Are they harsh, or noisy? Base this comparison using a 1995 GSR Sedan. I used to own one. How heavy is the clutch? I am looking at buying an ITR soon, but it's pretty far away, and I don't want to drive all the way there and learn that I don't really like the car.
Basically.. I had a 95 GSR Sedan and loved it to death...will I love an ITR? thanks for any input you can give me.
ps. This is cool, cuz it looks like I am going to get a FBP ITR and my GF is going to get a PY ITR

It is extremely loud (hear road noise and lots of engine noise)... but loud in a good way especially VTEC underneath freeway underpasses
The ITR is way worth it.

I used to have a 95 gsr sedan, also, and now own a 98 ITR. I really liked my gsr, but it's no comparison to the R in terms of performance and handling. R just feels like a totally different animal compared to the gsr. If you're looking for more power and better handling, the R is for you... if you're looking for a smoother more sophisticated gsr, the R is not. You need to decide what your needs/expectations are first.

Compared to a 36 year old muscle car its plush as hell.
Clutch is easy, ride is stiffer than most cars, but its not bad even on long trips.
You can hear the engine, and the tires throwing rocks into the wheel wells, but thats a good thing if you ask me.

what Chris said

Don't buy into the hype about the hype-r. it's a car for certain people (too bad a number of elitish morons own them instead of those certain people
) and like chris said, if you are wondering if it's for you, it most likely isn't.
If you like a quiet ride... don't get it...
If your back is giving you problems... don't get it...
If you don't like having to put ear plugs on... don't get it
For most people this is not a daily driver.... in other words they don't want to be driving a car that feel like your hitting a speed bump, when in reality it's just a penny on the road.
This car is for a true enthusiast, someone who doesn't car about giving up most comforts.
And of course it the price you pay for "RAW" performance......

ITR won't give you as much comfort as other integra model for it is the race spec integra. If you want something that's comfortable, then ITR might not be a good choice. But then again, I personally don't think its that bad at all. Car's quiet before VTEC and if you want some noise and speed, simply step on it..

i dont know what these guys are telling you but the ITR is as quiet as a mouse. i think they are all just playing with your mind dont listen to them.
Lemme clarify. I drove a lowered MR2 with intake and exhaust for three years and THAT was loud and raw. It had no power steering, and the intake was right behind you, so it wasn't quiet at all. Then I had a slammed GSR Sedan, so that never rode real well... and now I have a Jeep Wrangler (nuff said there). So the ITR will probably feel like a damn Cadillac to me.
My buddy had a 95 Stang GT, and I used to ride in that thing all the time, now my friend has a slammed 01 Lude SH. So the roughness won't really bother me..I am just curious what they are like, being that I haven't driven one.

if i were you, i'd get the itr, and let my gf get something that's more comfortable for a long distant ride. i've used itr for more than 6 hour drive, not that bad, but i can certainly feel the tiring of the noise after a while, I could have really used a quiet luxury car for a trip
otherwise, it's a perfect car for daily driving, noisy, but bearable. fun certainly is.
I had a GSR before, and i thought that car was fun enough to drive.
fun = good performance, power, and can do almost anything, almost anything you want on the street (w/out hurting yourself or others)

but like plenty of people have said, the ITR is not for everyone.
Rob,
I do also, don't take the statement out of context.
( you just helped me win a bet by the way....
)
Up-yours,
Hey.. is that with or without your hearing aid on?

I daily drive my 01(stock) and at 49k miles, i love every bit of it, never drove it before I bought it just got my info reading off of the itr guys here at HT
and researching it on the net, made me want to have one even more. All I know is I dont regret making a decision of buying the R.

If a Type R is a "10" on the Integra scale, your GS-R sedan would be about a five or six, in terms of general stuff. Compared to my roommate's '99 GS-R, the Type R is:
* louder (engine and road noise)
* lower (ride height and seating position)
* more comfy seating position (GS-R leathers suck)
* more viscereal (you experience so much more - GS-R is "numb" in comparison)
* less comfy over distance (your right leg will get numb, and may cause back problems)
* easier to work on (especially oil changes)
* more expensive (you will go through tires much faster)
* a hell of a lot more fun
About the only true similarity is the clutch - they're just about alike. And the control layout is typical Honda - seen one, seen 'em all.
If daily-driving a Type R around here were practical, I likely would have kept mine. But b00st and cruise control ownz me now
