should the radiator fan always be running when you start the car?

Default should the radiator fan always be running when you start the car?

or should it only come on when the coolant gets hot?

Only when its needed and it feels that the engine is getting/is hot.

well my other previous thread about my "car running hotter during rain", im just trying to problem solve, but i think it might be the water pump going bad, or have you heard of the oil catch can messing with the temp of the engine at all?

I doubt a oil catch can cause that.
Have you checked the thermostat inside the radiator hose?

yeah i just replaced the thermostat like 4 months ago, i checked both hoses and they both are getting hot, i checked the top and bottom of the radiator and they gettin hot too

So the temp rises when in the rain but not so much in summer?

well im going to see tomorrow if it rises at anytime during the day, because if it does, i have a feeling it is the water pump

yeah that should be your best bet.
Try cleaning the iacv valve right after you change your water pump just to take some of the corossion off of it.

If the A/C is on the condenser fan always runs regardless of engine temp. The radiator fan only come on when the coolant temp reaches 195-200*F (operating temp).
