Default B18A1 Questions....

hey everyone.. i just picked up a B18a1 for my hatch i traded for. its needs to be rebuilt so i wanted some opinions as to building a LS head.. if its a good idea or waste of money?... cams/valves/springs/ etc ..i was thinking of doing .25 over ITR pistons in it and maybe some spray... what about a computer?.. what do you guys think?.. thanks in advance!

You'd have a lot better results with a B16 head. ITR pistons are good but P30 Pistons will be a better choice. While you're rebuilding it, upgrade the rod bolts to ARP since the LS are weak

you can get em from honda. I got mine from some guy in japan off ebay a little cheaper with wrist pins and rings.

I don't know too much about nitrous but it would seem as if it'd be a lot of stress if you're leaving the block stock. Not sure how the rods would like a shot of nitrous

CTR's are the way to go, might have to use better gas (93+96 octane) but only with pr3 head, p72 head too much compression, really have to use racing gas like vp or something like that,so im told. i know a guy that sell itr or ctr pistons from 81mm to 85mm or stock piston but not the p30 piston. if your interested just email me at aayuub09@yahoo.com

No. Please stop recommending them in every thread. They most definitely not "the way to go" in anything other than a ctr.

If he used CTR pistons with that block and a PR3 head with OS pistons his CR would be 13:1 according to Zeal. Not something I would want to run on pump gas.

lol seriously, P30's are ideal for all motor daily drivers since you get about 11.6:1
