According to the VIN it is. DC231 is a 2-door and 31 means it's a Type-R.

Wow, people sure are bidding a lot of money for a car that has extremely high mileage, has been repainted, has a lot of risky mods, etc...

Since I was curious about what Ken was referring to, I took a peek at the link.

This first line got a little "chuckle" out of me:
You are bidding on the 7th Integra type R ever built in the United States!!!!

I always though the number of the car was in the VIN. Can someone steer me in the right direction here?

Im not sure you guys realize.. .but if that ITR is really number #0007 then that is extremely rare because there are stories of an unknown amount of the first few 97's were given to race teams around the world.

But then again Honda may have started the numbering of the cars to be SOLD, after the first few were given out. Either way good find.

i think the only question portion would be the turbo, and the engine mods. the cosmetic mods dont look all to crazy, but the two tone is somewhat questionable.

Carfax says that its a real Type R with 20 Reports, i think that its fake, plus i would not waste my time on doing a carbon roof cap when the roof does not come with a sunroof in the first place. also If i am correct did comptech get the first ten R from each year in the first place?? ?? correct me if i am wrong

Sorry, you're right. That's his starting bid. No takers - what a surprise!

No, it's not. The number of the car is on the armrest, and has only a vague correlation with the VIN.
