heeelp i think i fried a resistor!!
ok sso was doing a little trouble shooting with a friends car and decided to plug my ecu to it. i have a jdm p72 and he has a usdm h22. well we plug it up and turn the car on and flame on!!! we see small spark comming out of ecu and we turn the car off quick! well now i have a resistor that semmed to jump out of its solder and i was wondering what it was for! can anyone describe the three legged black resistor in the top left corner of my ecu?...thanks in advance.
you guys probably blew the purge valve solenoid transistor it always happens when iat is in a different location. plug you ecu into another car i bet it will still run and not throw a check light
whats up with the datlog cable is that **** demon ready lol

thats what i thought so we switch the plugs around and tried another ecu and that one started smoking at another location. we shut the car off and switch the plugs around to how they were originally and the ecu worked just fine...no fried resistors. lol that what you get with the tuning kit from moates with the hulog data logger so pretty much yes i am demon ready just need the board. my ecu is actually throwing a cel now, i jumped and i think it read a 14 which is iacv but i didnt get that cell before...?? anybody know what this resistor controls??
thats what i thought but i switch both sensor plugs around with and tested it with another ecu and again it was going to fry another resistor but we shut the car off before it fried....i switched them back around to how they were originally and the new ecu had no burnt resistors.... is that what the resistor above control? and is it important? the dam thing popped off and made a clean removal as if there was nothing there originally.
so i was explaining what happened to a friend of mine and he stated the resistor could have fried due to the type of iac on the h22...they use a diffrent iac as supposed to b-series motors and it could have cause the resistor to over heat and therefore burn off...can anybody verify this? and is there any place i could send it to get fixed?

I can't see the resistor in the pic.
If you fried the evap purge solenoid resistor, don't worry about it. You don't need it if you disabled the evap purge.

its the large black one at the very top left corner of the ecu, to the left of "danshigiken", it resembles the evap ones which ive seen on usdm ecu's but im not sure if it controls it or not, would that throw a CEL?
ok after looking at it again, the two "RESISTORS" directly under the "TRANSISTOR" appear to be fried also (the 2 small light blue ones are now brown) could those be causing the CEL?
can anybody please take a pic of these resistors from the side if the happen to have a JDM P72?? i think i might be able to tell what specs they are from looking at the stripes
somebody needs to know! common fellas this ecu has sentimental value and i really want to fix it although my car seems to run fine. please, if somebody can take a picture of the resistors so i can read the value and replace them, i would greatly appreciate it.
ok so i was glancing at an old crx ecu i had lying around and i manage to get my hands on another jdm p72 and heres what i found!!
the p72

the old pm5 crx ecu

so do you guys think i can remove the components from this old ecu and add them in place of the fried ones??? has anyone tried this before?
