2007 Civic Shuttering at 70+ mph when accelerating
My 07 civic is shuddering during acceleration above 70mph. The car acts normal at all speeds under 70MPH. The shuddering goes away if I am going over 70mph, but not accelerating. I can coast at 70 mph+ with no shuddering.
It is just the basic Civic (automatic - non Si).
54,000 miles on it.
Any ideas on what is causing this?

could be as simple as a wheel weight fell off or something man? I know Ive had that happen before and only at a specific speed would it pop up. wouldnt be that expensive to have your wheels rebalanced just to check
Check your spark plugs, if one isn't firing you will lose power in one cylinder and that will affect your higher speed acceleration.
ok what does your old type R have to do with anything? That's awsome that you had one, I guess.
What exactly does it take to get back into the swing of things? You have a late model non Si civic that's an automatic. You just get in it and drive. Not like it's a major transition that you need assistance with.

Your right, it has nothing to do with a Type R. I was referring to the engines being totally different, and I am not familiar with the engine in my new commuter car.

Thanks guys. There is a strong vibration when I accelerate at any speed above 70 mph. I am going to get the wheel rebalanced today, and see if that helps. What is weird about the whole thing is the vibration happens only during acceleration, and goes away as soon as I take my foot off the gas.
He's right. I have become partially retarded. The day to day dealings with degererate fools degraded my mind to the point where I just blurt things out and I do not know better at this point. So just take my statements at face value I don't mean to upset you.
Sounds like it's missing, could be loose plug, bad ignition coil, bad wheel bearing, or maybe you broke a belt in your tire.

One of my TPMS sensors broke off and was floating around inside the wheel, I had the exact same symptoms.

hey OP, how does your idle sound when the car is warm??
does it sputter at idle?
cuz when my pulstar plugs blew up, it sounded like i had toda vtec killer cams
and no check engine lights or anything lit up on the dash.
and it was funny when they blew up cuz i thought my motor was toast
cuz they smoked a **** load when they went out on me on the freeway.
surprised my car didnt catch on fire.
