Well.. i just recieved my H&R Race Springs and i was reading through some forums and i notice it said it DOESNT fit a type r..
I know i shouldved done my research before i bought these, but why WOULDNT it fit a type r?

Taz Harvey used to run H&R race springs on his race car. Are you sure they won't fit?
I remember that Neuspeed made sport springs and race springs and that they made different types for GSR and Type R but I'm pretty sure they were the same spring regardless of how it was labeled. I'm not so sure that they won't work.

i looked on the website and it says it wont fit type r's.
I called some sellers and they said h&r didnt make race springs for the type r's..
Does anyone here use H&R race springs that lower 2 in the front and 1.7 in the back on their type r? Trying to confirm if it really doesnt fit or not.

A lot of guys on here will recommend Tein suspension. I actually prefer OEM but I had Tokico Blue shocks with Neuspeed Race springs on my last R. It was a nice combination.
Maybe too stiff for some folks.

uh huh. at least the sports are a shock that can control that high of rate. i can't even imagine blues with these springs. they are underdamped on anything above stock rates.

They are made for the base model(which are higher than the R)so on your itr those springs will really only drop the car about 1 inch- 1.25 inch(not 2-2.25) and you still have the wrong rate, got it ,sorry, anyway they will fit !
how does he have the wrong rate? please explain this one. also, how exactly will they be higher? the base model uses taller springs. if you're saying it won't drop as far. well yes, the stock itr springs are shorter to start. however, h&r race are still frigin LOW
idrivesideways, so are you saying.. it wont drop as much as 2 in the front and 1.7. in the rear on my type r? maybe around 1.7 in the front and 1.5 in the rear or so?
just look at pics of ITR's on these springs. as far as the exact drop? who knows. for an extra $100 you could order any rate you want with a ground control setup. now you can get any ride height you want
I have the H&R Race springs on my R right now and I believe they drop the R 2" in front and 1.ish" in the rear. The reason I say "I believe" and not "I"m sure" is because my is still in light-weight strip mode. So, I can really give you the exact drop as on a normal weight R.
h&r never made race springs for the itr. Their race springs are for the non-type R version, though you should still be able to use it, but clearance might be a problem.
I had H&R sport springs on the itr before and they were about twice as stiff as the stock springs. I did a comparsion long ago, I think the stock stiffness was 160F, 120-160R (progressive).
On the H&R counterpart it was 360F/360-320R. Drop about 1 inch (a little more..maybe 1.1 inch), worked well with stock shocks, though I'm sure those would have worn out the shocks faster than the stock springs. The vehicle still understeered like a **** at the track, even with throttle lifting.
I was happy with that setup until talking to GK who suggested some uneven weightings for the usdm itr (stiffer in rear, non progressive) which was an incredible upgrade at the track, less lifting required to repoint the vehicle if needed... ironically my azenis (the old 215's, not the new 6xx series) were getting shredded at the track due to poor driving.

a high quality shock will really help with the ride. koni yellows would be ideal with those. you'll have to see how it goes with the ride height. where i live that's borderline too low. it's not super crazy though. definitely wouldn't wanna go any lower though.
I saw the pics. Yeah that's low!! You should probably have your alignment checked. You may need to do some camber correction. How is the shock travel with that spring/shock combination?
Yea we were going to do alignment yesterday, but it was getting too late. Im coming back today to finish the alignment though. The ride is pretty stiff, but i love the ride height.
