here we go with the Graphs. 245+ WHP All motor. Daily driver

Basically, its a package 3 with higher compression than a usual package 3, and it has ITB's.
We did not touch the cam gears yet, and we know its going 250+, but the tranny exploded doing a pass, and we need another one.
So, we are stuck with the 245 for now.
Putting the 238 WHP type-R motor back on the dyno tommorrow, and trying for 240+ on that one too.
Jeff
BTW, this is tuned with Hondata, and its difficult, so without going into total detail, we cannot provide the graph below 5500 RPM because of some very technical issues. The car is only in VTEC racing anyway. Below 5500 is fine, but its complicated.

Jeff is that the test mule or someone's B20VTEC header?
CF for the graph?
I wish I could use your pistons in H1.

Whoa baby! Very, very nice! That is some pretty sick power for a daily driver and as always, keep up the awesome work!!!
By the way, what's the compression on this motor?

What compression are you using? k, gotta go win the lottery to pay for my package 3!! hehe! good job guys, with every post you make I just want that package 3 even more!!

Actually, the gas mileage is good, because of the Hondata.
Real good considering. Around 20.
And it idles pretty good too. And since it has a 36" 3 " resonator, its VERY quiet.
But when you think its weak, and quiet, and think its prey. Your going to get KILLED.
The car will hit the track and run soon, I expect 11.70's from it, daily driver. Not a racecar.
Or I guess we could race our PAL in texas for money all motor VS supercharged. I bet we could get 1,000 people to pay $10 each to come watch.
I would donate all the money to charity.

I wish you guys could show us a dyno graph from like 3k on, just to see how the motors react at low rpms, like when you are driving around town. I am also curious as to why no one seems to build the larger motors like the H22 or H23? Again, this is coming from a guy who knows little about these motors, but the extra displacement could only help for a street motor. I check the Prelude board and it is the same story, not very many built motors over there either.

Don't worry.
2 FULLY built Package 3 Prelude Motors are about to debout this year. Making probably 230+ WHp.
I can't show you the graph below 5k, as I stated due to an issue that is too complicated to explain here.
ITB's are not meant for the street, and Hondata was never intended to work with them. At all. But we made it work. And its a long story.
We never floor it before 5k RPM, so the Hondata works perfectly.
With no ITB's, yes, we could give you from 1k-10k.
I cannot explain this further, its too in depth. So lets leave it at that.

How can any car with ITB's be considered a daily driver?
I used to run twin 40mm Mikunis on my 86 1.5L SOHC 12v CVCC Civic. I put them on at 30k and ran them until 90k. I actually got 36mpg on the highway doing 70.

and maybe this is a stupid question..but what would make it easier to tune these
puppies?

Thats impressive. I thought that no filter would cause significant long term damage.

I understand Jeff, trying to do something that wasn't meant to be done can be difficult at best. I am anxious to see the Prelude build up because there are locals around here swapping them in their Hatches, which I am all for. You just can't beat displacement for a street motor.....

Sweet numbers...Do you guys hava any pictures of the motor? I can't fugging wait to see those ITB's on that motor... Which ITB's are they by the way? Any specs on the horns, runners, etc...?
Thats funny!
I'll give up some details
Jeffs says 11.7 I say 11.5 or better
Killer H motors are not likely, the IB mecanics have a deep hatred of prelude motors
C/R has not been calculated exactly, the amount of mill and deck on this motor is not known for sure, I'd figure 13.5 to 14.0
Itb's are TWM 50mm
Pictures are not likely, the owner might use this car for his night job.
This car idles at 900, is fairly quiet, and drives reasonable at part throttle.
I would consider the trans unstreetable . Its has custom gears and buzzes high on the freeway. But since the motor likes to grenade trannies, the car is forced to run a ITR trans with a 4.78 until parts arrive.
I got a Q sor SMSP David. How much gain would you expect if we put on your 2 3/4 header. I'm talking about the one on Allmotormadness owns, and was On Ericks car. We wanted to try it but thre trans problem prevented that, And the 2 3/4 header will be gone before this car gets back on the dyno.
well back to business

now the problem would be traction on street tires .
