vibration upon acceleration
Hi my 95 Accord, 5 speed is getting vibration upon acceleration. Here are the details.
1.It vibrates during acceleration when I am trying to pick-up speed, not when I'm cruising.
2.It feels more intense when I am going uphill.
3.My tires/wheels are balanced and I did rotate them in all different position.
4.I checked for play in balljoints, tie-rod, steering.
5.I even did the thing where I am driving in different speed and then put in neutral.
I've been doing research and some say if axle is not balanced or inner cv joint is bad this can happen.
my question is
1. can a bad axle on the right side make it feel like its coming from the left.
2. anyone personally experienced a inner CV going bad causing vibration upon acceleration.

when we bought our 96 accord the passenger side's outer CV boot was torn pretty bad and it was clicking pretty bad when turning.
we had it for about two months when a vibration and a sort of "swishing" noise started to creep up and was bad under acceleration, but was completely silent when braking or taking the foot off the pedal. i had no idea it was the axle until i checked the boot again and it was torn WAY open i could see the joint like terminator t-800 status. so i rushed to finally get the axle replaced and the vibration and noise went away. but again, the outer joint was the culprit in my case.

Its a really good chance its the axle. My inside boot was ripped and it shook bad under acceleration. checked the axle it was terrible so i changed it and it took all vibration away
You need to rule out the axle though. Because you do not want to change it if it is not actually the issue you are having. A good test is to drive slow and make turns and see if you hear a clicking sound. If the boots are good then it is internally bad. You should also check the hub and bearing assembly on the car. This can also make a clicking/clunking sound and can cause vibrations.

If it is a aftermarket axle, it will vibrate somewhere between 2000-3000 rpm's
