Default is the driver side door wiring for a 96-98 the same as a 99-00

as states, i'm looking for the pigtail harness that plugs into the door of my brothers 96 civic ex, and from the door it routes to the inner fender area. i only need about 6" of the wiring i guess and a guy on here says he has that small harness for sale from at 99-00 civic, but i don't know if its the same, figure you civic guru's would know, also i know its part of the floor harness.

not sure what you're asking really, but the plugs are the same, wiring is different.. different pinouts.

if your sitting in the car, you open the door, you can look between the door and the inner fender by the door's hinge, and see it, its in a rubber boot though. its the wiring to the door.. that simple..

yeah, its a plug.. one end is the the floor harness, other end is the door harness. unless its a non power door model and then it would just be some wires in a rubber boot..

but whats your question? they're two seperate harnesses on the door side and floor side, just get matching harnesses, 96-98 floor harness/96-98 door harnesses.

its a civic ex, meaning its power windows, locks. etc..

the question is, as originally asked, is the 96-98 the same as the 99-00. i don't care anything about the door harness whatsoever. i'm asking about the floor harness to the door, if the 96-98 is the same as the 99-00.

maybe background info will help... he lost some connections in his door, so i pulled the driver side fender, peeled back the boot and noticed some of the wiring just rotted away from the large square connector that plugs into the door, there is some much dirt and grease inside the connector and at least 4 wires have pulled out and there are a few the same color and i don't know where they pulled from because there is like 7 open slots.. so i'm looking for that plug with some wiring on it, so i can hack his old plug off and solder on a new fresh one so he can have power to his speaker and windows again.

well why didnt you say so, the wires are in different spots, but they are the same type of plug.. so if you're just going to use the plug, you can re-pin it to match the 96. if you want, i can post a pinout of the 96-98 plug..

no, i would much rather prefer to just get a plug with wiring on it, like a pigtail. that way i can hack the old off, put the new on, i'm not looking to spend anymore time than i have to on his car, and if a new plug is jam packed full of grease like his, then there is not gonna be any soldering, it looked like too much of a pain to do. but shoot, if you have that pin out for that plug, i will be more than happy to check it out.

Im having same issues with my 96 4 door civic. I put doors from a 00 civic on my 96 nd now windows wont go up or down. Would i have to change pinout for each door harness or only driver side front?? and also what if i change whole floor harness from a 99-00 that connects doors fuse box ecu fuel pump etc..will that be a better solution then changing each wire in harness???? Can some1 post pinout for harness
