everything shuts off when i put it in gear and go or give it gas, but in reverse it doesnt do it and when at stand still giving it gas it doesnt either. everything seems to be hooked up right and grounded

im stumped

 

my 88 std did that a lot. Turns out the battery had a dead cell, and then it also was moving around too much like when you accelerate or hit a bump

 

so it would do it only going forward and not reverse? doesnt make sense, because in reverse it can move around and hit a bump....
