Open Headers and other questions??
Hello all...........well here is the short and tall of it. In about three weeks there is a dyno competition at my local performance shop and I want to enter the R just for the hell of it. My R is a stock standard Australian DOmestic R and there is no chance of arranging bolt ons or mods before then......so..........
WIll I dyno more if I remove the entire exhaust system and cat up to the header?? Is there any other way to get a little more power out of the stock R?? I have friends that take the top off their air box just for the sound and I thought maybe if it was an open bonnet (hood) run with a fan that this might help, but I know it drops the power on the street so dont wanna run the risk,
Okay well thanks in advance guys, oh I will post the graphs here when done but the Dyno DYnamics Dynos over here show a lot les power than the Dyno Jets in the USA.....

Keep airbox lid on. Remove filter. Running open header will give you good gains if your car is anything like mine. Take off your power steering belt. That's pretty much it for free mods.
So removing the filter is beneficial??? I might do that and jam a bit of fly wire over the hle so it doesnt suck and nasties into my motor............excuse the ignorance but how hard is it to pull the power steering belt off and how hard is it to remove the exhaust................
