H23 crank in H22 ????
I think it is possible. However, you are going to (obviously) need H23 rods, and you will have to relocate the oil squirters on the H22 block. I don't know if anyone has done this, so you might be on your own about how to relocate the squirters. Other than that, it should be fairly simple.

ya yo ucan do it, i know someone that has it. i think you need h23 rods also...
but after reading a post in the fi forum i cam up w/a new thought. the fi h23's run h22 eagle rods, but use custom pistons since the h22 rods are shorter. so what this would do is make it so you would have a better r/s ratio then the h23 w/2.3 displacement. i think it should work.
ill let you know this weekend about the oil squiters and all. after i talk to him

The squirters will not fit properly. You can however slightly bend them but i don't recommend that. Run without the squirters. Thats what i did when i had my h23vtec motor and it ran like a champ for a very long time.

I'm curious because a friend of mine is building this same engine right now. He's planning on using the squirters, though. Andrew

I am doing that to my h23a1..I'm going through Rocket at Hondasaver and will be running custom pistons with h22a1 eagle rods. I also want oil squiters off an h22. Then after the engine build, I'll slap on a t3/t4e at 17psi.
the engine rebuild won't be complete until sometime in January and the turbo will be complete by the spring.

The motor was running great till i pulled it out. It was running for 1 1/2 years. The motor was raced on alot. It was still in great condition when i disassembled the motor. I didn't have any problems running without it.
so why is bending them into place a bad idea? thats what i have done. but the crankshaft web is just barely catching the base of the oil squiter assembly. so, should i run it or take it out or what? this is a street car.
The reason why you shouldn't bend them is because it weakens the squirters. I have seen this before when you slighty bend them they barely clear the crank and at high rpm they slightly touch and well it breaks off the top of the squirters and drops into you oil pan. I have seen this before on other h23avtec's. It should run just fine without them i know many b20vtecs and lsvtecs that run great without squirters. They make good power and are street driven engines.
thanks, prospeed. i'll let you guys know what happens. i took the jets out and plugged the hole. i am thinking about getting an oil cooler and using water wetter. well, i'm dropping in the engine in tonight! hope it's okay for daily driver. late
