i juss bought a 96 y8 mani (manual) complete with injectors TB....and on the back there is a IACV thingy....

im gonn be putti on a y7

with the IACV on the back...--will it still work???or do i need the auto mani??

y7 has a 3 wire IACV and manual y8s have a 2 wire. i'm assuming you're running your y7 ecu? if so, you're gonna need to be running a 3 wire IACV or you're gonna get a CEL and a weird idle. so your choices are either:

1) sell that y8 manual manifold and buy an auto y8 mani and run your y7 TB.
2) block off the IACV port on the back of your manual y8 mani and run your y7 TB.

 

I have an automatic Y8 manifold that I will trade you for your manual Y8 manifold. I need the manual one and I did not know there was a difference when I was at the junkyard. Let me know...
