Default oem vs aftermarket ( headers )

looking for after market single headers
A friend has these out of a d16y8 civic

claims they work the same as aftermarket 4.2.1..
this true??
there going on a d16a6

im satisfied with my Y8 exhaust manifold. there are two types, an all cast version, or a welded upper portion. theyre interchangeable i believe. probably better off with the welded version but I have the full cast version and it works great. no dyno graphs, but butt dyno likes it.

any 421 is better than the stock one.

Honestly... an aftermarket header is going to flow better than that. The collector will be bigger allowing for better flow and a larger exhaust. It's stock and comes from a grocery getter stock civic EX. Aftermarket is better.

Now if that header if free and you'll have to pay a few hunderd for an aftermarket one then I'd go with the free one for now and put my money else where for the time being. It's an upgrade from the stock A6, so that's good enough for now.

If it were me, I'd go aftermarket.

actually the collector is not much smaller than a DC sport. i have used on as well.

personally, i like having a stock looking engine. thats just me.

^^^ yup, it's all opinion. I personally have a completely non stock looking engine, so my aftermarket header looks right at home.

It's up to you man.
