obd2 injectors on obd1 91 civic
ok so i just bought this 91 sedan with a DOHC ZC swap converted to obd1. the #3 injector wasnt working and i got some b20 injectors and clips in the garage...my question is the wires are backwards on the obd2 and obd1 so do i go color for color or do i swap (i.e. like red to yellow and yellow to red?)
Injectors are just coils of wire that create a magnetic field when electricity is run through them. It doesn't matter the direction the current flows through them as the magnetic field doesn't change. It's still created and it still pulls the pintel needle and allows fuel to flow. So it doesn't matter which wire goes to which. I would just match up the wire colors so it looks nice. You won't hurt a thing. And yes OBD1 and OBD2 are practically the same. It's the OBD0 injectors that are different.
You may have two problems. what color smoke are you getting? black, blue, white, or grayish? And where is it coming from, tail pipe, under hood, under the car, etc.
