Made a deal to buy a B18B valve cover made to look like a Type R valve cover for $90. Valve cover showed up poorly packaged, full of sand (yes really), corner broken off before it was even painted, and what seems like the smallest issue is a horrible paint job (uneven/splotchy, runs, painted breather tube, paint inside the PCV hole)

And of course once I notified the seller of the problems I received no response. Not to bent out of shape about the money, but I thought other H-T members should be warned before they **** away their money.

Contacted PayPal and they said they couldn't do anything since it was a "service". But I paid $60 for the cover and $30 for the paint job. So really 2/3 of the cost was product. No really expecting a resolution at this point, I just wanted to warn other members.

 

when buying parts even if part of it is a service, always mark payment as goods, otherwise you technically just screw yourself

That looks really bad. This does belong over in the scammer thread but I understand your reasoning. That packaging sucks looks like he did not even wrap it up just threw it in a box and called it good. Paint job looks like a 5 year old did it with finger paints. And that oil cap came on the valve cover? that looks discusting. So does the bottom of that valve cover. It sucks. Hopefully he is just away from his computer for the time being and not trying to bounce out on you, and hopefully he makes things right with you. I hate being ripped off it blows. But on the brighter side atleast you did get the part from him and maybe just maybe it broke in shippment?

Ok, so I took the valve cover so I could clean it in the parts washer. Turns out that the baffle was full of sand. Total dick move for sure. iluvmy2000civicex will scam you and try to destroy your motor at the same time. Nice guy.

Ah man, the worst part is to trying to make an LS cover look like a type-R. I mean imagine popping ur hood and someone saying. OMG a type...uh.. Type-LS.. ah man. You probly saved yourself the embarrasment.

 

Nope no word from the guy. He said he was sending pics but then it just showed up on my door step. Guy's is just a chump.

No System-7, the worst thing is being from Bakersfield. That's why when I race at BRP I load the trailer as fast as possible and head out of town...

 

And to clarify System-7, I've never hard parked so I wouldn't know what it's like to pop my hood for some goons. The whole idea was to have a Type-R replica LS valve cover for my new race car. Not for a parking lot lurker...

It's because you are the lowest common denominator in the car world, street racer... The reason you haven't is because you would never in you wildest dreams think of building a proper race car and competing in a sanctioned series. God knows that you bitch and moan about going through so many tires and spending money on the minimum safety gear.
