Default Seafoam Question..

Okay I put a pint of Seafoam in the gas tank of my 1998 Civic cx, then I see this thread about seafoam..

https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...fram+pcv+valve

I'm actually kind of scared now, did the guy burn his pistons rings because of putting too much seafoam in the gas tank?
Can I cause any damage putting a whole pint of seafoam in my gas tank?

thanks..

I've personally put the whole can in my gas tank once, and never had a problem. I took it to smog and it helped with Nox emission to the point i didnt have any. Still driving driving it around at 100k.

Definitely some BS about SeaFoam killing piston rings. Motor would have to be messed up to begin with. We use tons of the stuff to clean out motors. Ran a bunch of it in a boosted B16 for about a month (woops). We later pulled the motor and the internals looked factory new. The motor had absolutely ZERO wear on rings, bearings, or sleeves. And that motor had over 100,000 miles and had been boosted at 8-12psi for almost a year.

I messed up my rings a little with seafoam through the brake booster vacuum hose, if you have 100K plus on a D series I wouldn't do it. It was fine on my dad's EK with 60k miles
