Has anyone done this? Do I need to remove the dash?

I searched google before HT. :p They all said attach fishing line to your old antenna before you pull it out (then pull new antenna in with fishing line). Thanks for the article but it won't work for my CX since it never had an antenna in it.

get like a metal coat hanger and shove it down the hole till it pops out the bottom. then attach the antenna wiring to the end sticking out the roof and pull it through.

 

Run a harder thick guague like 6-10 wire down the hole of your antenna and it should pop out down by the dash tape it up really good to your antenna wire and pull it. I had to go though the same thing on my "std" civic which is also like the cx's with no antenna's and such. If that doesnt work then take out your dash and your driver apiller cover and try to do the same thing but with a metal rod or coat hanger and just be carefull not to poke holes in anything. Hope that helps.

Thanks guys. Is it easy to see where it pops out under the dash? I tried pushing the antenna wire down but could never see the end.

you could leave you block off plate and pick up a inside glass mount antenna from best buy for $15. keep the clean look. but i use really long zip ties when pulling stuff. all the afore mentioned ideas will work as well. good luck.

 

Get one of the cheap hidden antennas off eBay. Amazingly, they do work.
Otherwise, just do as someone else said and push a wire through and then use that to pull the antenna wire through.

 

I haven't had a chance to try it yet (the car is at my parents' house), is it easy to see where the wire will pop out? I only have the fuse box panel cover removed - the dash is still in.
