Default 96 CX B16 Swap

I am taking the engine from my CRX and putting it into my new Hatch.

I need to know what shift linkage can work. Just 99 Si? or Integra?

I am also curious about engine wiring. Just get an Si engine harness and plug and play? Or do I have to run V-TEC wiring? I have a S300 P28 with OBD2A Plugs on it.

And Mounts. Will the rear Bracket on my current tranny fit? or can it be modified?

I know the driver's side bracket needs to be Si. But why not Integra?

And I have been told the D16 tranny bracket bolts to the B16 tranny. Is this true?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I have been dealing with EFs for too long.

Thanks guys!

Get 99si sift linkage,99 si rear mount. You will need to change the drivers side mount on the motor to a obd2 b-series stock cx tranny mount will work. If you use a si harness you need to change the dash wiring too.The easiest way is to use a 96 civic ex harness.

Brain fart use a 94 up b-series driver side mount on your block then the stock cx mount.I would get aftermarket mounts sooner then later the oil filled mount on the drivers side sucks

So and integra shift linkage is not going to work? Is it too long or short? And an ex engine harness will plug right in? What about knock sensor?

If you can't get the harness, just add them in yourself. Also I'd suggest you replacing the stock driver side mount with an aftermarket one just to be safe. You can actually use whichever linkage; I'm using gsr linkage on my swap. But they say both linkages has different bends in them but idk mines woekng fine. No problems here, but gl

integra shiftlinkge will work. I think you have to wire in a knock sensor plug but everything else plugs right in.It's the cleanest way

just get a 96-98 EX harness. I dunno if the 99-00 have a different harness or not. The harness will plug right in and have all the plugs you need. But ya i would look into changing the mount for the drivers side because its a piece of **** and breaks all the time. Ive gone through 3 of them already. I just stopped changing them because i cant afford it now.

Thanks guys! So correct me if I am wrong. But V-TEC is already wired up in the dash harness but the engine just doesn't have it. Also, is there anywhere that I can pick up just the driver's side mount? And lastly, can I use my OBD0 B16 rear bracket? Can it be modified to work? Or Si only?

99-00 harnesses are different since they are OBD2b. (you would need the underdash and the engine side harness.)

easiest route would be 96-98 EX harness like stated.

well i know they are obd2b but im not sure what other sensors and **** obd2b has.. If its enough to make a difference or if the plug configuration is different, etc.

the only difference sensor wise that i know would be the fuel tank pressure sensor, but that came on some 96-98 civic's also.. the plugs at the ecu are pinned differently, and the 99-00 harness is divided like an eg/dc harness almost. where 2 ecu plugs are on the engine harness, and one is on the underdash (cabin side). it really depends on his budget, which ecu he's going to run, and how dedicated he is to getting it in there and running right.

me personally (since i live in CA, really.) swapped over to the 99-00 SI harness on my 96' hatch and am running a p2t ecu, so my car is basically running as a 99-00 si, and its all OBD2b now.

I am running a P28 with S300 that has had OBD-2A plugs added to it by Doug at Hondata. It sounds like 96 ex engine harness is going to be the way to go. But with the p28 do I worry about the knock sensor?

it doesnt matter? I have a Y8 Block with a Z6 head. The block is OBD2. It doesnt matter because the only difference is in the sensors for the computer. You dont actually need the sensors lol.

So..... I picked up all of the brackets off of a 99 Si. And the transmission bracket is no where near bolting up. Is this because of the cable transmission? Or will the D16 mount fit the cable transmission?

Cable transmission? No. What B16 did you buy? and OBD-0 B16? because you need a OBD1 or OBD2 one. A cable transmission will not work for your car without you then converting it to cable. And idk how hard that is.

HASport makes a kit to mount the slave Cylinder onto the cable transmission. I had this engine built and in my CRX and want it in my new hatch. Will the D Series mount bolt up to the cable transmission?

well i know that a conversion kit is made, but ive heard that it is pretty pricey. One of my friends was looking into it and told me that it was somewhere around $500.

Actually I bought it today. It is just the transmission bracket with hardware to mount up the slave cylinder. Bought it from HASport for 140 shipped. I'll keep you hys posted on how it works.
