Default Removing heat shield?

As far as i know the heat sheild does nothing for the engine and simple protects
me, the owner, from burning myself. So doesn't it just add weight then? I tried to remove it but the screws wouldn't budge. Is it welded on, or am i just a weakling
that can't get it off?

keep it. air flows fast when hotter and heat shield keeps heat in. why do you want all that extra heat floating around in your engine bay anyways?

when i first swapped my motor in, i took a **** load of bolts,brackets..etc......off... including the heat sheild..... everytime i pop my hood open it was got as hell... beleive it or not the damn heat sheild helps out(thats if you have stock headers like me)....but take it off if you feel the need to... its only 10ounce

What can I use as a shield for my drag kit? It is very hot and I want to cool down the ambient temp.
