Default Time to park...i think

Let me be honest up front...i drive the dog **** outta my Fa5 but I did buy it myself and its a good investment and i wanna make it last.

I got a 90 rex and i got my 4door but my Fa5 has got 19k miles already. Hell i bought it last september.

What about yall. Mileage creepin up higher than you would like for just getting the car within a few years ago ?

Time to park it i think since my rex is just about done and give my grocery getter a rest for a few months

any ideas ?

No way keep on driven it! Iv had myne for 1 year 2months and iv put 60k on the car in that time. The only problem iv had with the mileage is the 3rd gear got it fixed, and an idler pully the bearing went out. These cars are made to be high mileage car as long as you mantain them.

It's a Honda. If you think it is an investment, you think wrong. Drive it and enjoy it.

So you plan to sell a readily available, economy coupe for more than you bought it for?

A car is a depreciating asset, not an investment. Your car has already depreciated and will only continue to do so blue book on it right now is probably 6-8k less than you paid for it. The average person drives ~13k miles a year and driving around that will not have much of an effect on your cars value more than the depreciation caused by time alone. If you have a ten year old car with 60k miles it is only going to be worth slightly more than a 10 year old car with 100k miles. A honda is not a collector car.

just let him keep thinking that it will appreciate in price. These cars are quite rare.

a car is somthing that is definatly not and investment. Its not going to go up in price the older it gets. A house is an investment(was untill the market fell0. You can upgrade things to make it have a better/higher price for resale. Anything you do to a car pretty much makes it go down in price.

you can make money selling cars. Buy then used and fix small things that are wrong and then resell it for more then u paid. Your civic is fine. Drive it to enjoy it. Drive the rex more and when that takes a **** on you sell it. And there is always putting a new motor in the car and bam mileage starts rite back @ 0!

Holding value is not appreciating. Nor is selling it for $100 when you owe $99.

I think you're ideas of money are quite skewed.......

*edit* You should have just leased the vehicle.

There are some cars that can appreciate in value, but generally speaking cars are a mode of transportation and the depreciation is just a cost of getting from point A to point B.

Lol what? No it isn't. A profit is selling the car for more than you paid not more than you own. If you disagree PM me I have some awesome "profit" making ideas for you. Not to mention that you would have to factor in the interest you paid on financing.

So you legitimately think that a regular production honda that is produced across the world, by the hundreds of thousands, is going to be a rare collector car some day?
