Need Help!! Bike Not Running Smoothly!
So like the title stated in the title my bike is not running smoothly and I have no clue why not.
When the bike is idling it sounds like it wants to die but doesn't. But when I rev the motor and let it come down and rev it again it wants to die and sometimes will. Also when riding the bike in first gear and accelerating it bogs down until like 4500 rpm and then runs normal. It is also like that in second. any help with what could be the problem would be appreciated thanks in advance. the bike is a 04 gsxr 600.

Yeah, not sure if it's the battery--generally load is the highest when running the starter, but who knows? might be worth trying a known good battery and seeing if the problem is still there, or getting a meter on the terminals to check voltage.
if it starts i'm guessing the battery is just fine.
04 gxsr..is that fuel injected? is it modified at all? aftermarket exhaust/headers? sounds like fuel system is screwed up. does it have something like a power commander added? maybe the guy took it off when he sold the bike? look for signs of electrical mods...
if you know what you're doing then pulling the spark plugs could tell a lot.
if you really have no clue then take it to a shop.

Yea the bike is furl injected. The bike is stock no modifications were done to the motor what so ever. I think it is something to do with the fuel. As the previous owner said the bike was sitting for a while and the gas was old. But i emptied the tank and put new gas in and changed the oil. i also checked the spark plugs and they looked good to me. But im not actually sure what i should be checking for on the plugs.

also, I can't remember exactly how to adjust the idle on a k4/k5, but it seems that there's a **** under the tank somewhere. maybe the idle adjust got tweaked.
also, pull your plugs and make sure they're not fouling or the bike isn't running super rich. If it is, I'd check your air filter to make sure it's not severely clogged. there's no fuel mapping problems?
a quick look at gixxer.com also yields the possibility of IAC (Idle Air Control)

pull the plugs and look at them:

alright.
well, first, try boostering your battery and cross that off the list. even though it sounds doubtful it's easy enough to check. if you feel nervous about using jumper cables and frying something, then get a voltmeter and check voltage across the battery terminals--it should be close to 13.5-14 V with the bike idling.
then, go digging for the idle adjust. for your bike, i'm not sure where it is exactly, or how to adjust it. google it or look on gixxer.com. idle should be 1300 rpm or so.
if it's still acting wonky, go and get some seafoam. run the recommended amount through the gas tank and do some long pulls on the bike.

yeah if it sat then it's fuel delivery. i'd imagine the injectors could have gotten mucked up, but like bad-monkey says eliminate the easy things like battery (check it with a voltmeter, should be above 13.0V when bike is running, indicating charging) and idle setting (a **** somewhere).
The previous owner didn't put NOS in the tank did he?
