Hello, i have a 1994 honda accord ex 5 speed and ive been hearing a slight whistle type sounds coming from my tranny lately, whenever i press down the clutch pedal it goes away and but as soon as i let go it goes back to whistling/squeaking. This used to happen once every week or two before. I hadn't replaced my tranny fluid since ive gotten the car and now its close to 20k since ive bought it. I changed the tranny fluid the other day and i used GM synchro mesh and i didnt really notice much of a difference as far as shifting, its always been pretty smooth. BUT now i hear that squeaking/whistling sound more often, like almost everytime i start my car. It's really bothering me now because it could get really high pitched and when i step in the clutch and let it go it may stop the whiny noise but it then sounds like a grindy noise when its in idle. I believe it to be the throw out bearing but I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions of what else it might be. Thanks
oh man christian, hope it isn't, that would be a pain......but could be a reason to slap the h tranny in, shorter gears, good fun! But all in all, hope it isn't the trans.

hmm..maybe any more suggestions or is it throw out bearing period point blank? thanks
I feel your pain I have put in over $450 while on the the Journey to PRoject Road and it doesn't help your Savings. You have to keep it running though. Im not sure of the exact fix for this, I just swapped my broken tranny. You can find one pretty cheap and I wouldn't even bother fixing the exact issue with the old trans. I would probably just swap it like before, Im sure you can find a cheap one. On a newer swapped one though I would fix, gear, bearing, LSD, whatever you know. Just my $.02. GL

if the noise goes away when you press on it, it is the input shaft bearing which means a tranny tear down. my teg has a slight squeal, its been doing it for the past 30k miles or when i bought it. its been fine.
