99 ek wit b16 idle problems
i got a 99 civic ex with a b16a motor swap in it. i started it for the first time yesterday n it ran fine n idled good. then went to take it out for a test drive n when i pressed on the throttle it would bog real bad n shut down. i then got it back in my garage n tried to start it n it would start but wouldnt hold an idle at all. it smelt like rotten eggs so i took out the cat n replaced it wit a test pipe but i dont know what else it could be so any help would be greatly appriciated.
Does the CEL work and does it remain ON?
Are you sure that the rotten egg smell was from the cat rather than the battery? Caution: A battery that smells like rotten eggs is at risk of exploding. This is typically caused by a bad alternator that is over-charging the battery.
