Default turbo d15

hey i was just curious if anyone knows of a turboed d15??? Is it possible, and would it even be reliable. I ask because I saw a generic turbo kit that said it would fit a d15/d16. I kinda think it would be cool to have a turbo 1.5. Thanks for any input!!

its worth if if you want alittle bump in power. my friend had a nice drag turbo kit on his
d15 and had like 280hp for a year till he sold everything. its the same kits as for a d16.

You can turbo your lawn mower, you just have to ask if it's worth it?

For the price of the parts collection to be done reliably, you could do a LS swap.

it was a full jdm d15vtec motor and tranny. super low miles and light flyweel and stg2 clutch. it was quick and super fun without the turbo setup. but with the turbo it was inshane

280whp is nearly enough to run 12.00 and touch into the 11's in the 1/4.

I'm callin bs that this was done with a stock block d15b7.

280 will get you 14s if your lucky martin. you can call bs all you want and the d15b7 i believe is the usdm gay 90hp motor. im talking about the jdm d15 vtec motor that is 130hp stock. 280hp will not get you far though in the qtr mile maybe a 280hp motorcylce

I'll see if i can get jarvis_199 to post his old setup running 11.7ish on 285whp single cam cx hatch. theres no bs involved. theres timeslips and dyno sheets.

you could always throw a built y8 bottom end in there. after that moped incident i got a y8 head and it was fun for awhile till i got i too confident in the tiny motor and blew it up trying to go over the railroad tracks before train went by (no railroad crossing bars)i didnt get hit but my engine was junk then. spun a bearing i think at 9500rpm
so the moral of the story is boost a dseries or get a gsr motor. thats what i did and now thats turbo. me VS. train. round 2

are you talking about teh jdm d15? that uses the same rods as the d16z6, so large aftermarket and easily turbo ready with some moeny.

if you are talking about a d15b7, for 200 bones, one ebay there are OEM rods that have been shotpeened and magnafluxxed, Ive seen one guy do 320hp on it. with a good tune you can run it reliably. even with those rods and only setup for 180hp, you can blow the motor. its all in the tune

my buddy made 240whp on his B7. a good tune goes a long way. he had the bottom end balanced to 10k rpm though. it makes a big difference, even if you are not revving the **** outta the motor.

well I know with stock internals, the b7 can take 170whp no problem. when you get past 200, thats where you want a FLAWLESS tune, and need to be careful about boost. thise B7 rods are puny, I haev a set of them on my computer desk as we speak, and my thumb might prove stronger and thicker then them lol
