Autometer Digital Boost gauge question
What's up people need some help here and I apologize for the noob question (I've searched to no avail). The install instructions state that the power wire needs to be connected to a switched +12 volt source that maintains power during engine cranking. I have my wideband going to the fuse for the radio and that cuts out during cranking so any suggestions?
Here's a link to the install instructions: http://autometer.com/productPDF/1236.pdf
I dont think it really matters man...Its just the boost gauge doesnt really need to be on during cranking...Just hook it to somthing that turns on with the ignition in the fues box there..
I see what you're saying now.
I'd reccomend using a power distribution block, similar to ones used for car audio.
I also use a power distrubution block off the ignition wire for all my switched acessories.
much cleaner/safer than jumping onto the fuse panel or splicing your ignition wire 5 or 6 times.
The blocks i use i acutally got from an electrical contractor supply, they are used in home wiring. I believe they are called multi tap connectors

Cool I see what your saying I'm gonna go with that thanks for the advice. Do you know which color wire off the ignition I'd splice into?
I believe its the white with red stripe, thicker gauge wire than the rest of them ... but i could be wrong because its been a while. Might want to take a look at the manual or get a voltmeter and check before you splice in.
