motor swap bar

i have a 98 gsr in a 98 hatch and i was told by a friend that you would need paperwork for the purchase of the motor to pass. has any one here gotten there swap bad legal? did you have to show proof of purchase?

Why can't you get paerwork? Can't you just use a bill of sale? Just make a phony one(Provided the motor is not stolen, and if it is stolen shoot yourself in the face lol).
