Icon3 Injector Locked Open, Hydra Locked from Fuel

B16A 525cc Injectors walbro 255 fpr....

Ok so yesterday I go to start my car after getting a dump tube bent from the turbo dumping to the ground below, I let the fuel pump prime the system, start the car, idle is fine. Next thing I know I hear a liquid dripping steadily on the ground....ends up being gasoline dripping out of the downpipe :/ So i kill the fuel pump and try to turn it over to pump the fuel out since it was running with it flooded I didnt think it would do anything less than turn over. Turns over and gives a hard thud like a detonation. I pull the spark plugs, extract the fuel using a hose and vaccum pressure, reinstall everything after checking that the injector had finally shut, and start the car. Idles perfect but sounds like its knocking. Understandable, hydralocked engine, might have bent something. But could I bend a rod just from cranking the car over???

Dry Compression test yielded (cylinder 1-4): 198, 119, 199, 198

Should I be checking the head or bottom end, I've gotten mixed opinions. Maybe someone has had this happen before :-/

Yes. I happened to me with a motorcycle. Fortunately when the rod broke and tore the block open and locked up the transmission, I wasn't leaned over and 4 quarts of oil on the rear tire let me slide to a stop. I was lucky.

I don't envy your problem.

A liquid filled cylinder doesn't have the cushion of a gas filled cylinder. Rods bend when you make them do things they were not designed to do.

The #2 rod is likely bent and interfering with a portion of the block (and likely causing the bad compression). Don't bother doing a leak down test as the #2 cylinder probably had all the oil washed out of the rings from all the gas. Time to take off the head and assess the damage; check for bend valves and cracks in the head. Then drop the oil pan and take the rod out. While your in there look for block/cylinder wall damage.

Good luck.

Thanks, yea I guess I was hoping (really hoping) to hear someone say it could be a simple lifter, but yea I guess headsets, blockguard and new rods will be on order since I'll be opening it up; might as well get it all done now.
