Default Lower Control Arms

Hey guys,

I see a lot of civic and integra's that are lowered and have aftermarket rear lower control arms, with the lower arm bar in between.

Does anyone make lower control arms for the 5th gen accords? I know that Megan Racing has some, but anyone else?

I know Skunk2 has the lower arm bar, I was already going to pick that one up, but if I can get some lower control arms, I want to do it all at once.

I know I saw the guy "David" in the CD Squad had a set of them by someone, but cannot find the link where he got them from.

TIA!!!
-Chris

Hey hommie, i've wanted those for a long time too, but there's none in production that we know of. Yes, you can find the lower tie bar, which bolts to the rear subframe piece.
The rear LCA must be custom made if you want some, i've asked a guy who has them, he said he could get a freshly made set for me for 200 bucks including urethane bushings.

Why are you looking for aftermarket LCAs? Are they for looks or do you want them to server some sort of purpose? Waste of $200 if all they do is look good. If you want stiffer suspension why not just 3M (85-90A) the tiny little LCA bushings.

lower control arm won't be able to adjust toe if i'm correct, in this case, it's all for looks.

Well, let me tell you thing... don't know if you planned on doing this or not, but if you want to save some money, instead of buying the upper arm for the rear suspension to correct camber, you could just use washers and correct the camber like that.
Also, the lower tie bar, simply bolts to your rear subframe, it's also just for looks on this case.

In order for it to adjust the toe any more than the ± 2mm that the OEM LCAs do. You would need a larger adjustment bolt or some sort of custom adjustment setting built into the LCA. I would imagine that that would cost more than 2 bills.

The $200 LCAs will probably make a part of the car, that no one sees, look better and weigh 20oz less. I would imagine that they would only have stock adjustment capabilities with the use of the stock bolt. Unless you custom order them to a length to suit your specific drop. that could work but don't get me to do the math for you...lol

I prefer to not do the washer trick, just my thing. I would rather "do it the right way" as my suspension teacher always said, just my personality. I mean it definitely is a real cost saver, but like I said, I would rather go ahead and get the Ingalls for the front and rear.

Oh and the rear lower tie arm from Skunk2 attaches to the stock lower control arm, not the subframe.

I hear you, i do like the "aftermarket" look of the upper arm on our cars, i actually bought a kid one time, but when i noticed that i'd have to press the bearings in place... i went ahead and sold them.

For our cars (CD chassis), it's an upper control arm for the rear, and you have 2 different types for the front, one is the adjustable ball joint for the UCA, and the other is the "j" type which mounts at the UCA to the chassis.

Here's the camber kit for the rear suspension.

The toe arms along with the lower arms would do the trick. I have never heard anything about these? I have seen them before but passed them off as race only. $220 for all 4 is not bad price.

You will definitely need an alignment machine to get both sides dialed in.

The only thing I don't like about having three axis of adjustment is the amount of things that could get loose. I would be constantly checking these things to make sure they aren't moving. I think that I would be way too paranoid. I think I'll stick to a fixed length LCA & UCA.

Yeah, talked to a guy today with a teg that has some ridiculous suspension mods. His are not adjustable LCA, just is lighter, better bushings, and has three hole settings for where ever you want to put the tie bar into i am guessing. But if you do the whole "bushing kit", cannot remember the company that makes it, prothane or something like that, the bushings would be good to go from that kit. And as for weight I guess you could shave pounds else where from the car. I guess GhostAccord just completely made his case on me, no real point minus the fact of looks. I think I will stick to stock and get the two ingalls kits. They are the best for camber right? Minus the rear "washer' trick? Got my itr's coming this week and then tires next week, then a local guy has a seat of seats and 4 point harness. After that, maybe the camber kits.

Did they mention if they were thinking fully adjustable or just for looks and some weight reduction?

The guy I talked to said that they need a large want for them before they will put it into production. I assume the LCA will be the same as their others for the Civic, Teg, etc. He said we would need about 500-1000 people that want them before they put them into testing and production. I mean I already put it up on the CD squad thread on NWP. I figure we could get that 500 if we go between this site, NWP, HS, and others. And get like a list of people who want them.
