I don't know the year of your A as you didn't specify? But from your Avatar it looks like you have an EG Hatch.

My Dad had this problem with idle when turning the A/C on with his D15B7 in his DX. He cleaned his IACV(Idle Air Control Valve)and it cured it.

Its on the back of your Intake Manifold Plenum, Take out the two 12mil bolts, undo the two coolant lines from the bottom of it and clean the mesh screen, etc with Brake Cleaner and a Toothbrush or so.

OP make sure you jump your ECU before you adjust the idle screw or else it won't do anything. Atleast mine wouldn't on my D16Z6 and won't on my LS. Once the ECU is jumped it will change the idle.

There's no need to jump the service connector when adjusting the idle speed. Here's the proper method:

Thats fine and Dandy. I am just telling you that the idle screw did nothing on my D16Z6 or on my B18B1 unless the Service Connector was jumped. Samething on my brothers D16Z6. Mine are OBD1 though. Not OBD2. I didn't think of that when I first replied.
