i was just wondering what inline fuel filters people use inline with stainless fuel lines? are there any better or worse ones to watch out for?

I like the design on the big aeromotive ones but have never had any problems with the smaller -6 earls stuff either.

Summit/Legs Brand without issues, -8 In/Out with a stainless mesh element, I think it was around $40

Stock I believe is 7-8 micron. 10 micron is the best your going to get with the in line filters. Most of the smaller cheaper filters are 25-40 micron.

The two filter brands that we use are aeromotive and fuel lab. If your going to be using E85, then we recommend the fuel lab 6 micron micro fiberglass element. Its compatible with E85, alcohol, and gasoline.

If your going to be only using gasoline then we use the aeromotive 10 micron fuel filter.

When your running a sumped tank, we recommend the fuel lab 75 micron ss element pre pump, and post pump we recommend either the aeromotive 10 micron (gas) or the fuel lab 6 micron (E85).

I think the JEGS alcohol filter is 100 micron? I know thats not a small number compared to the others but honestly if you look at it, a piece of visible dust wouldn't make it through. Plus I always use Shell or American Aviation for fuel... cleanest stuff out there,

The intank walbro pumps have a 35 micron filter sock. So there's no point in using anything higher then 35 microns.

75-100 micron filters are meant to be used pre pump.

I have my fuel LAN filter mounted on the firewall.

It's not the prettiest arrangement but space was limited and it has easy access.

My filter is mounted in the fuel line tunnel under the car just forward of the fuel tank.

Thanks guys! That really helps give me some ideas. I always have always been told to mount the filter as close to the rail as possible. Is this true?
