it his hard as hell.

The two 12" would have more cone area, so assuming proper box designs for the two 12" and the L5 and same amp driving them I would say the two 12" Alpines would be louder, [hit harder] just because they would move more air.
With that said my guess is you would not be able to tell the diff., [everything else being equal] I do not think there will be more then a 3dB diff. 94

Ok sounds good so keep the l5? I have one now its in a small sealed box. I plan on buying a bigger ported box to make it sound louder, and getting a bigger amp. The thing is really loud now and i have only 210 rms pushing it lol. Anyway, since i have the l5 now, would it just be smarter to just buy a bigger amp, rather then buying 2 alpines?

Buy the proper amp and not anything else and build the right enclosure for it
I have a little sealed box atm, see i dont think i look at it the right way, maybe i dunno. I see the one l5 kicker that i have as 12" pushing air, and i see 2 12" subs and i think of 24" of air pushing so i thought the 2 would be louder is this right

3.25 cu.ft. ported and true 600 watts rms and you will be happy. This speaker is better then both alpine imo. It will reach its excursion faster.

That would work. Price is cheap. 3.25 is the biggest rec from kicker. I built one to spec and the owner and I was perty pleased by it.
2 12" for the cone area for sure. Build a customs tune box ported. If you like to listen rap then ported box would be good for it. Get those lows shaking the block.
i'm kinda down the line on this one, but i would stay with the kicker.. i just don't have any faith in the type-e's.. Have i given them a chance? No.. and the reason was because i had 4 type S 12's and i just was not impressed with the subs.. and no you can't say 2 12's is like 24". a 12" circle has 113 sq inches.. the cone actually has less because the cone diameter on a 12" sub on average (depending on the surround) is about 10"-10.5" of actual cone.. but given the averages.. 2 12's is about 226 sq inch's. which is less than the area of 1 18" woofers, which is 254 sq inches. and a 12" L5 is roughly 144 sq inches.. and keep in mind the type-e and L5 were built for two different purposes..
Ditto, keep the L5 and build or get a spec slot ported box for it.

As mentioned 1x600W RMS [mono block sub amp] will get you very good output when sub is in the "SPL/DeepBass" box.
For best SQ wire a DVC 2 ohm in series for a 4 ohm load and get the 1x600W RMS into 4 ohms amp, if it is a DVC 4 ohm, wire it in series for an 8 ohm load and get a 1x1200W RMS into 4 ohms amp, [1x600W RMS into 8 ohms] Best possible SQ. 94

Still under powered by 100 watts. Try to find something else. imo. I like to be dead on! Because when that amp heats up. Power drops.
