Honda Motorcycles vs. Scooters
I realize this is sacrilege for the comparison but I noticed many of the Honda Scooters have taken on a motorcycle type form. So my question is what do you guys really see as the main differences are between the two now? Have you considered getting a Honda scooter?
I'll ride anything anytime anywhere...
no I haven't considered a scooter. but displacement has nothing to do with whether or not I would consider buying a bike.
I'd love to own this if it didn't cost so much, and it's smaller than a bicycle

I actually think some of the scooters are pretty cool looking. I imagine one difference is probably they have smaller wheels, but am not sure. The truth is I think the difference between scooters and motorcycles is become less and less each year.
Oh, you're talking about the "maxi" scooters right? They're the large displacement scooter that you can take on the highway or long distances.
The use of a CVT would be a major difference guess.

i just got a 05/f4i and i have had a honda metropolitan(50cc) and a yamaha vino(125cc).
I miss the scooters, its a lot easier to get around in the city. Its also alot less to do with out the clutch, and gas/mileage is WAY better....
i regret selling both scoots after i got the f4i.
Im in the middle of looking for another scoot.

rochesterricer,
That video of the scooter driver was pretty good. From what I hear there are people that drive like that all time in Italy.
i like scooters, as in less than 100cc (hopefully 2-smoker) engines attached to a couple wheels with a cvt or basic 3-speed thrown in and a top speed somewhere around 40-50mph. i can't stand some of these 'maxiscoots' or whatever you want to call them. i say if you want to go faster than xx speed and keep up with (or pass) traffic, just buy a damn motorcycle.

my quip about maxis is that they're motorcycles for people who can't drive a stick.
I think the reason people get the maxi scooters is because they want to be able to drive on the highways. With the 100cc engines you would not be able to do this. However, I imagine most people would definitely agree with your sentiment. Still, I have seen some pretty cool looking maxi scooters and even electric ones out there. If one were given to me, I would have no problem putting it to good use.
