Ok guys I need some help. My car randomly dies on me if I am not on the throttle, especially when the weather is very warm. And when it dies it just shuts off like you turned the key, there is no bogging or anything. Then it starts right up but with a little hesitation. Again this happens mostly with warm weather.

I've tried replacing the ignition switch but no luck. I'm guessing it may be the dizzy? Any help is appreciated. Please help, it is annoying as ****!

 

This exact same thing happened to me about a month ago. Turned out it was a cracked dizzy, and i replaced the rotor, too. So i'm willing to bet you have the same problem.

 

Thanks for your input. Did you get an oem dizzy? Where? How much?

 

Actually it was a Bosch. And that really sucks, i had no idea oem made dizzys. but whatever this fixed the problem. and dude i think i paid no more than 30 bucks for the cap and rotor, so it wasn't bad at all...easy fix too...if you wanna get crazy though i know the Beck Arnleys are supposed to be like indestructible. But the Bosch is workin out good. if that doesn't work i'd say replace the rotor, too.

 

If its not the dizzy, check the main relay, when main relay get hot, it sometimes does that.

 

Have you cleaned the IACV on the throttle body?

Yes, I've also tried this with no luck either.

I should probably mention my car is boosted. I hopefully will be retuning it soon and hopefully that fixes the problem. I've been trying to get a hold of another dizzy to try out but nothing yet.
